Adult Ministries

River of Life offers a variety of Adult Ministries to help equip and encourage every believer in his and her faith. Whether it's in a life group setting, a bible study group setting, or in a specific group offered in a safe place with confidentiality you will find a place to belong, grow, and enjoy relationships with other men and women.

Equipping Classes

In order for River of Lifers to grow in their faith, it is important to have continued biblical instruction in a format that allows participants to explore topics in-depth.  Equipping Classes are offered to help you become more fully outfitted in your journey as a fully devoted follower of Christ. Classes are offered at various times throughout the year.

Our course offerings include:

Pathfinders

Join us as we explore the foundations of our Christian faith, the Evangelical free church, and what it means to be a River of Lifer. This great foundational class is also your first step towards required membership. Email us at

  • You want practical ways to share faith with others

Marriage Ministries

Pre-marital Coaching

If you are planning on getting married within the next year or two, start your marriage strong by attending a pre-marital class at River of Life. Premarital coaching is a requirement of being married at River of Life.  Each couple must complete a minimum of 12 hours of premarital coaching. This includes 3.5 hours of class time (scheduled dates are Jan. 14 or April 8), and 6 sessions (1.5 hours each) with a marriage mentoring couple. It is up to you and your mentor couple to set up dates and times that work for you.  Cost is $160 per couple. Upon completion, couples receive a certificate to present to the county when applying for a marriage license. Sherburne County offers a discount of $70 for completing our premarital. To allow adequate time for the coaching process, couples must begin the counseling process at least six months prior to their wedding date and finish all requirements one month prior to the wedding ceremony.

Marriage Mentoring

This process is for any couple wanting to enrich their relationship. Whether you are engaged, newlywed, or married for many years, this process is for you. Marriage mentors seek to meet the needs of all couples whether they are in crisis or in a healthy marriage. Marriage mentoring provides encouragement, hope, and healing. Explore your relationship with another couple that is unbiased and caring, which provides a unique setting for growth and transformation. It’s fun, it’s rewarding, and it’s life changing! Email Deb Robinson
for more information or to start the mentoring process.

Women's Ministry

Welcome to Women of the Word! We hope you take the time to look over all we have to offer women in our church family and community. Our ministry exists to encourage women in their pursuit of God by providing opportunities for both spiritual and personal growth. Our weekly bible studies, women's retreat, and special events are intended to help women draw nearer to the Lord and drink in His living water. We also offer opportunities for women to pour out their gifts and talents as blessings to those in our church family and beyond. We invite you to join us!

Join with other women as we connect through bible study and fellowship. This fall we will kick off our Monday and Wednesday bible studies with a few different choices. Whether you have been involved in past ROL bible studies or are looking for a place to make friends and get to know God, you are welcome to join us!  These weekly in-depth bible studies are for all ladies.

Our groups meet Mondays 6:30-8:30 pm and Wednesdays 9:30-11:45 am
Childcare is available for both Monday night and Wednesday morning studies.

For more information about these studies, contact the ROL office at 763-441-7527 or email us at rol@rolchurch.net.
